What we collect, why we collect it, and how you stay in control, on our website and in Upfront.
Serendipity Technology ("Serendipity," "we," "us," or "our"), operated by Serendipity Holdings, LLC (d/b/a Serendipity Technology) in Volusia County, Florida, respects your privacy. This policy covers two things: our marketing website at serendipitytechnology.com, and Upfront, our quoting, approvals, invoicing, and payments app for small service businesses. We wrote it to be read, so it is plain on purpose.
When you use our website we collect:
We use this to respond to you, to schedule and run calls and projects, to operate and improve the site, and to measure whether our advertising works. We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Our website uses Google Analytics 4 to measure which pages are visited. On our Upfront and service pages we also use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure how our ads perform. These tools set cookies and collect information such as pages viewed, buttons clicked, device and browser details, approximate location, and the campaign link you arrived from. When you book a demo through our scheduling page (Cal.com, hosted by us), we receive the name, email address, time, and any notes you enter, and we record that a booking happened so we can tell which ads lead to demos. Google and Meta may use this information under their own privacy policies.
To opt out: use your browser's tracking and cookie settings or a content blocker, install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, adjust your ad preferences at facebook.com/adpreferences, or email us and we will help. These trackers run on our marketing pages. We do not run advertising pixels inside the Upfront app where your business records live.
If you sign up for Upfront, you are the "customer" and your business is a separate workspace (a "tenant"). We collect and store:
Each workspace is isolated from the others at the database level, so one customer's records are not visible to another customer's account. Sign-in is handled by Logto, an authentication service that we host ourselves. It stores your sign-in identity (email address and your chosen sign-in method) and issues the session that lets you into your workspace. Data is encrypted in transit, and we keep encrypted backups.
If you are an Upfront customer and you collect information from your own clients, you decide what to collect and why. You are responsible for having the right to enter that information and for telling your customers how you use it. We will help with reasonable access and deletion requests that come through you.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers or bank details.
See Stripe's privacy policy for how Stripe handles data.
Your records are your business history, and cancelling does not take them hostage. If you cancel or stop paying, your workspace is deactivated but your quotes, invoices, payments, and customer records are not wiped. We keep them for the retention period below, and on request within that period we will give you a complete export and can arrange access. Exports use standard formats (spreadsheet-friendly CSV and JSON, plus your PDFs) so you can take your data elsewhere. You can also ask for an export at any time while you are subscribed.
If you provide your mobile number and choose text as a preferred contact method, or if you text one of our keywords, you consent to receive SMS messages from Serendipity Technology related to your inquiry and your account (for example, replies, appointment reminders, and project or account updates).
We use a small set of providers to run our services. They process information only as needed to perform services for us, under their own terms, and are not permitted to use it for their own marketing. As noted above, SMS opt-in and consent data is not shared for marketing purposes.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of others, or as part of a merger or sale of the business (in which case we will notify you and this policy's protections will continue to apply).
We use encryption in transit, per-workspace data isolation, access controls, and encrypted backups. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a breach that affects your information we will notify you as the law requires.
Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above reflects the latest version. If we make a material change that affects Upfront customers, we will email account owners before it takes effect.
